Be a Flamingo Art Journal Layout :D

A bright and vibrant Art Journal layout today featuring an old Creative Stamping freebie along with a load of Tonic products too :D 'Be a Flamingo in a Flock of Pigeons' I just had to use this quote along with the gorgeous flamingo stamp from the set :D This was a page in my small 6 inch square journal, which I had coloured ages ago (literally a year or two) with Dylusions spray inks and I'd done a bit of ghosting, and stamping and doodling in the background, then I just started building up some more layers :D I started by using some Peony Pink Embellishment Mousse on my Gelli plate, and pressing an embossed piece of card onto it to get the texture (Flamingo Embossing Folder from Couture Creations :D) I then printed this onto both pages in my Journal :D I've just brought a set of the mini Gel Press plates, and I can't wait to use them in my journal too :D

I used the flamingo stamp as my focal element to go along with the saying, and I stamped him directly onto the page, as well as onto some white card, so that I colour him in and cut him out and add him on top :D I then used the tail portion of the tropical bird from the set, and added some stamping around the edges of the double page :D I continued to add little details, then I added my quote, for this I like to use a real mixture of fonts and stickers and stamps too :D For this saying I used two different sets of really old Papermaina alphabet stickers and also the little round ones too, which are from Paperchase :D I like to colour the alphabets in with a black sharpie so that everything coordinates together :D I used a black sparkle pen to draw in some ground, and add a thicker border, and I also doodled some dots in the background with black and white pens, and some of these circles were around some glitter stickers that I made :D Simply take a piece of wide double sided tape and lay it sticky side up on the table, then add some Tonic Sparkle dust and burnish it in, then you can cut it to any shape you'd like and adhere them down, I love this Snow Glow colour that I used on this page :D Then my final finishing touch was using the Beautiful Bokeh Tonic stencil and some Tonic Golden Crystal Glimmer Paste towards the top of the spread :D I hope you liked today's page, don't forget to pop back next Wednesday for another Art Journal Layout video :D

Life is Like Photography Art Journal Layout :D

Hello :D and welcome to my new blog which is linked to my new YouTube channel!! I'm planning on uploading one new video a week, on a Wednesday, where I will be doing Art Journalling, Up-Cycling, Home Decor, and even cross-over videos to my original channel CRaFTi PoTeNTiAl :D too :D Today's video and blog post, is an Art Journal Layout in my 8x8 inch Journal, and this video shows the whole process from scratch, some of the other videos in the future may only show me building up the decoration on a page, as I went through a phase a couple of years ago of just colouring pages ready, so I have lots of colourful pages ready and waiting to be embellished :D I started Art Journalling back in December 2013, I was in my second year of Uni doing my Chemistry degree, and I was getting so annoyed that I didn't have the time to craft, that I decided to take up Art Journalling :D I'd say that my big influences are Joggles, Vicky Papaioannou and Dyan Reavely :D After graduating in June 2015 I haven't really done much Art Journalling, so I thought why not start a second channel where I can upload videos of my other hobbies, this way it might make me keep up with them more lol :D

I won't write out the whole process for my Journal Pages, as you can see what I was doing in the video below, but I'll try and list as many of the products I used as possible :D Dylusions Spray Inks (Calypso Teal and Crushed Grape) and I also threw in some Purple Twilight colorwash spray too :D In the video I use different bottles than the actual packaging, because I learnt from Barbara at Joggles right in the beginning that you can water down Dyan's inks into new bottles to make them go further, and they really do go way further!!! :D Tonic Studios stencils, Falling Diamonds (1474E), Beautiful Bokeh (1475E), Layered Hexagon (1477E) and also Sunray Scallop (1481E) and with these I did a mixture of ghosting with water and flipping the stencil too, and I also did ink blending with a mini ink blending tool and Distress Inks as well :D Tonic Studios Nuvo Embellishment Mousse I mixed Cornflower Blue (806N) and Peony Pink (800N) together to create a lovely purple tone, which I then applied with a natural sponge and I also flicked some on too :D I used my Tim Holtz Tonic Micro serrated Scissors (102E) for cutting off over hanging elements :D and I also created my own sticky backed glitter (another technique I've seen Joggles do) by taking a piece of wide double sided tape, and lying it face up on some scrap paper, then rubbing on some of the Tonic Sparkle Dust (I know why they called it Dust now, it really is that fine!!) I used Cosmo Berry (541N) and Paradise Blue (545N) :D

For the stamps I used quite a few different ones, that's what I love about Art Journalling you can just combine so many different brands! I think the main brands I used were Tim Holtz and Craft Asylum too :D The filmstrip die is by Fuzzy Lemon and can be purchased at CraftStash.co.uk :) The Calligraphy Alphabet stamp set is by Altenew, the round letter stickers were from Paperchase and the letters that I coloured black are all old ones from Papermania :D I think that's most of the main products I used, but if there's is anything I've missed off, leave a comment and I'll do my best to get back to you :D Hope you like my style of Art Journalling, if so, don't forget to subscribe to ArTi PoTeNTiAl :D
