Never Let Go Art Journal Layout :D

A dream catcher Art Journal Layout inspired by a card I made ages ago on my CRaFTi PoTeNTiAl channel :D I loved that card so much, and as soon as I saw the gorgeous feather stamps in this free stamp set from issue 41 of Creative Stamping I knew I just had to re-create the card as a journal layout!! :D There's quite a lot of layers to this journal layout, and I won't explain everything as you can see what I did in the video below :D

So I started with an ink spray background that I created ages ago, then I started by sketching out my dream catcher (using the card I previously made as inspiration :D) and a large pair of compasses and some Tonic circle layering dies too :D I then layered up some stencils using Distress Inks, and some stamping again using coordinating colours, then some damask patterns using some Nuvo Mousse :D I then added my quote using a couple of different alphabets, it was important for this layout that I added the quote at this point rather than nearer the end, because I wanted the feathers to nestle around the words :D I then stamped on all my feathers, imagining in my head how they would be moving in a breeze :D I then penciled in some strings and the rest of the detail on the dream catcher, then I went over everything with a black pen, and in some places I went over again later with a fatter black pen to make the outlining stand out more and coordinate better with the thick bold font of the quote :D I finally added finishing touches like discs of Tonic glitter (which I had applied to a wide piece of double sided in a previous video, then I just cut it into whatever shapes I want) some Stickles glitter glue, think I used Fruit Punch :D I also added some doodling with my white gel pen, extra black outlines to the circles of glitter and finally my date stamp :D Hope you liked the layout :D I love that I started my ArTi channel as it means I have an excuse to do more art journalling, rather than neglecting this hobby, I've added it to my video schedule so I get to make a layout every week :D :D :D

The Journey is More Important Art Journal Layout :D

A more muted journal page using this gorgeous Woodware bike stamp, I got this as a Christmas prezzie :D And I thought as it had some birds on it, why not combine it with one of the crazy birds from the Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamp set :D "The Journey is More Important than the Destination" :D

There's lots of layer building on this journal layout as always lol, but I started with a background I created ages ago using some Dylusions ink sprays Slate Grey, Chopped Pesto and Polished Jade :D I then added to this with some stamping and ink blending using a combination of Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough and Twisted Citron Distress Inks, and also by using some Aquamarine Nuvo Mousse on the Tiny Circle Gel Press Plate, and also some of the Spring Green Tonic Nuvo Mousse on some bubble wrap too :D When it came to colouring my bike image, and the crazy bird, I wanted some more muted tones, so I went with some Tim Holtz Distress Markers, using a mixture of the neat colour, and also a waterbrush to blend the colour out too :D For the quote, I used my usual combination of stickers and stamping, and as my doodled element, I emulated parts of the bike stamp, and duplicated them around the page to tie everything together, including the tiny little birds too, it just brought the whole page together :D For the final touches, I used some white gel pen, added in my date with a roller date stamp, used some of my homemade sticky back glitter which I cut into hearts, and I also used some Emerald Green Glimmer Paste to add a foliage feel to the ground on my page :D Hope you liked today's layout! There'll be another one next week :D

Take Time to Stop Art Journal Layout :D

Take time to stop & smell the flowers :D A journal layout based around fleur de lis :D If you're interested in how I made the melted embossing powder embellishments, there was a video showing how I made them a few days ago on this channel :D Do you get the reference of using the little skunk on this layout? My mum got it straight away, but my Dad and Sister were clueless lol .... The little skunk in Bambi is called Flower :D :D :D I'd literally just got my order through from Seven Hills the morning I made this layout, and I'd brought this cute little Lawn Fawn stamp set, and thought it would be perfect as a cute little character on this layout :D

The initial background was made ages ago using Dylusions ink sprays, with ghosting, spraying through stencils and a bit of stamping as well I think, it was so long ago, I can't remember lol :D I started adding more layers to the background by die-cutting some Spellbinders dies from funky foam and stamping with them using Distress Inks, I then decided to use this gorgeous fleur de lis stencil and apply some Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish through it, I didn't want to ruin the applicator it comes with by squishing it through the openings, so I cut a small piece of cut n dry foam and used that instead so I could apply as much pressure as I wanted :D The applicator that it comes with is great to just catching the raised areas of an embossing folder, so I want to keep it nice for that purpose :D :D :D Anyway, this gilding polish works great like this :D :D :D I then added some stamping with a really old stamp set (literally so old that when I came to use it the photo polymer stamps had cracked in half :/ and this is one of my favourite stamp sets too :( but anyway, I just persevered and stamped it as it was and it's not too noticeable :D) And I also added some doodling too, I mustn't forget to add the doodling as this was always my favourite part of the page when I was Art Journalling at Uni, I tend to use so many products on a page now, I forget the simple things lol :D

I added my quote using some old Me to You cardstock alphabet stickers which I coloured black with a sharpie, and I also used some small round alphabet stickers I got from Paperchase too :D Oh, in the background I also experimented with flicking on some Gilding Wax! Yes gilding Wax! I just got the Creative Expressions Blending solution, so I mixed some of that with the Gilding Wax and managed to flick it over the background :D :D :D I love experimenting :D I'd also added some Gilding Wax to the embossing powder embellishments and around the perimeter of the double page too :D I also used some Sparkle Dust, Glimmer Paste and Nuvo Crystal Drops to decorate the page, all in purple and blue tones to go with the colour scheme :D To add some white, I used a White Gel pen, and a few layers back I'd also flicked on some black and white acrylic paint too, back when I added the black acrylic to the embossing powder embellishments :D And finally I stamped, coloured and cut out the adorable little skunk :D I've wanted this set for ages and finally caved :D :D Hope you like this weeks layout :D

Melting Tonic Embossing Powders :D

A quick video showing the first time I used my new little melting stove, experimenting with melting down some Tonic Nuvo embossing powders with some Ultra Thick Clear Embossing Powder :D I created some Fleur De Lis Embellishments to use on an Art Journal Layout (the full video for the layout will be on this channel on Wednesday :D)

To create the embellishments, I started by adding a bit of Ultra Thick Clear Powder to a metal Jam Tart tin (make sure to pinch one side to make a spout to pour the molten powder from), and then I let this melt on the stove (Look how brave I was in the video lighting my own candles!! I'm quite scared of fire lol, but I did it lol :D) I then used those cute little purple spoons that come in those Cadbury eggs :D to spoon out some of my Nuvo powders, (I think I only used a spoon of each and that made 7 embellishments, so it goes quite far :D) I used Purple Haze (610N), Cool Jade (608N) and also the Shimmering Pearl (599N) to add a bit of glitter :D In this quick video you only see the process of me melting the powder and making the embellishments (using a Heritage Wax Seal set that I got from Hampton Court Palace! I really love Fleur De Lis, and I thought this would be perfect for pushing into to molten embossing powders :D) But stay tuned for Wednesday's video where I used the embellishments on the Journal Layout in the photos, I used a combination of Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Waxes in Teal, Amethyst and Vintage Plum, and also some black acrylic paint to decorate them further, and make them tie in seamlessly with the Layout :D I decided to make this an extra little video, so that I could make the footage slower so you can see what I'm doing :D Hope you liked the video :D

To see the process behind these melted embossing powder embellishments, please watch my YouTube video below, or over on my channel ArTi PoTeNTiAl :D

More photos below, including the layout I used these embellishments on, the full video for this layout will be on my ArTi channel on Wednesday too :D

Even a Snail Art Journal Layout :D

A fun almost fantasy looking Art Journal Layout today using the phenomenally gorgeous Snail stamp and die set from Spellbinders :D I love this set so much, and I had so much fun creating this entire scene using it :D I love how you can just stamp parts of the Mushroom to make it look like it's a completely different stamp, and that you can elongate the stalk too :D

This was a background in my big 8x8 art journal that I coloured ages ago, and I was attempting a transition of colours going from Funky Fuchsia to Purple Twilight to Polished Jade with a smidgen of Slate Grey thrown in, and I really liked the way it turned out :D I'd also added some ghosting and extra ink sprays through some different stencils too, but I'd never done anything with it, and as I was flicking through deciding which page to use, I thought why not mix it up a bit and create a fantasy Art Journal Layout using the Mushroom, Snails and Crystals :D So this is what I did :D I started off by stamping out all my images straight onto the background, masking areas to get elements in front or behind each other, and also extending the stamps, or altering the stamps so that they fitted into my idea :D I also stamped the snails straight onto the page, but later decided that they didn't stand out enough (as they are the foal point because the quote is about them lol) so I stamped them on some white card the cut them out and stuck them straight over the top :D

For all the colouring, I simply used the same colours of Dylusions spray inks, I tipped a little bit out of the bottle into a palette, then painted the images :D I like to use a watered down version of the inks when creating a background, but I did find that the watered down ones weren't dark enough for colouring the images, so I used the full strength versions in the end, and once it was all dry, I came back in with a few ProMarkers to add some extra depth, and also some white gel pen to add some highlights too :D Once the colouring was done I embellished the rest of the background using some Tonic products, the Nuvo mousse, through a stencil and splatted on, and also some of the sparkle dust burnished into some double sided tape, then cut into triangles :D For the quote, I attempted some brush scripty font, and I combined this with the Lawn Fawn Smitty's ABC alphabet stamp set too :D And I really love the way it turned out :D As the final finishing touches I added some Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops, some wink of Stella and also some Clear 3D gloss too :D I hope you liked the layout :D There will be another one next Wednesday, and there might even be an extra video on Sunday, I just need to edit it first lol :D :D :D
